Is the pornstar martini cocktail still #1

Is the pornstar Martini still one of the most popular cockatils? I like to think so and if you are you looking for a fun and fruity cocktail that will impress your guests then look no further than the Pornstar Martini! This popular cocktail combines the sweet and tangy flavour of passion fruit with the richness of vanilla vodka and a hint of tartness from lime juice. In this blog post, we'll show you how to make a Pornstar Martini that will have your guests begging for the recipe.
this recipe is an updated one to the one featured on my page here, try them both and let me know  which you prefer or comment your favourite cocktail

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz vanilla vodka
  • 1 oz passion fruit puree or juice
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz passion fruit liqueur
  • 1/2 oz orange liqueur
  • 1/2 oz pineapple juice
  • 1/2 oz cranberry juice
  • ice
  • fresh passion fruit (optional)
  • Prosecco (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Add all of the ingredients (except for the Prosecco and fresh passion fruit) to a shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well combined and chilled.
  3. Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
  4. If desired, top the cocktail with a splash of Prosecco for some added bubbles and sparkle.
  5. Garnish the drink with fresh passion fruit, if available.
Tips:
  • For the passion fruit puree, you can either use fresh passion fruit that has been scooped out of the shell and blended, or you can buy pre-made passion fruit puree from the store.
  • To make simple syrup, combine equal parts water and sugar in a saucepan and heat until the sugar has dissolved. Let cool before using.
  • If you don't have passion fruit liqueur or orange liqueur, you can substitute with triple sec or Cointreau.
  • Use a good quality vanilla vodka for the best flavor.
  • If you prefer a sweeter drink, you can adjust the amount of simple syrup to your liking.
Conclusion: Now that you know how to make a Pornstar Martini, you can impress your guests at your next party with this delicious and fun cocktail. With just a few simple ingredients and some shaking skills, you can create a drink that's sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Enjoy responsibly and cheers!

Trying gin again- gin cocktailS

GinandElderflower CocktailI’d tried Gin many years ago and decided it wasn’t for me. I was into Jack Daniels, Bacardi abd vodka all mixed with sweet mixers, a Gin and Tonic was everything different to what I was used to, bitter flavours with a dry feel to it. that was about 6 years ago and I’ve never had it again... until now.

Gin has had a bit of an uprising recently every bar you go in has a range of Gins, close to where I’m from in Yorkshire we have a pub that claims to have to largest Gin collection in any pub. I decided to give it a second try look into mixers more and try bring some of the sweetness I like in a drink to offset the bitterness found in most gins.

I decided to start with a generic gin from the supermarket, I decided I don’t want to invest a lot incase I couldn’t find a balance I liked. There does seem to be a big difference between the premium Gins compared to generic supermarket versions so if you know you like Gin I’d recommend spending a bit more for the likes of Bombay sapphire or Tanquery. Check my page (link to Gins here ) for the best online prices.

My first attempt was a Gin and Elderflower cooler mixing cucumber and strawberries with Elderflower liquor gives a crisp and refreshing drink lime juice cuts through this sweetness and helps the flavours in the Gin come out. This would be amazing on a warm day.

So be like me , take something you thought you hated and give it a try again make a few changes and you may surprise yourself.

If you have any cocktail suggestions or requests contact me and I’ll see what I can mix up!

Matt

Meat free day

Finally got round to trying my "go meat free one day a week" that my friend suggested. She's a vegetarian and shared an article about the potential benefits to the environment if people tried 1 day a week without meat.

Id had Falafel previously but found it very dry, I decided to make my own and see if I could change this. See recipe here for more details  I must say I  really enjoyed this and plan on getting my family into it too to help with a healthier lifestyle.

Why don't you try a meat free day once a week see if you feel better for it.

the internEt, a confusing place!

I created this page about 4 months ago, my plan to put on a couple of recipes, some articles about cycling and maybe some of my photos. Since then it's grown quite a bit! I added my first cocktail on for a work friend and she shared it with her friends and other people, it got a few daily views and made me wonder how to entice more people in.
Tiramisu Martini
The drink that started it all off, the Tiramisu Martini
It all started with a Tiramisu cocktail, my girlfriend loves the dessert but after a meal we are normally stuffed! So I created this cocktail. It has all the flavours of the dessert with the space in your stomach needed! Click on the image to go to the cocktail.

Without wanting to blow my own trumpet it tastes amazing, my work friend loved it and was soon out stocking up on the ingredients to make her own or should I say get her husband to make them (Mrs Fender!) it would be my recommendation to try as a dessert alternative.
After making this cocktail I shared it on a Facebook page I had created for my friends to see. Someone said I should create an internet page so I could share my cocktails with the world and from there this site has grown.

being found in google

So I've created my first pages and uploaded them but how do I get seen? This is where the confusion begins. Google work in an umber of ways to rank sites and for the passed few months I've been trying my best to work these out! Different sites have different ideas so I've been trying to mix them up! At one point I was number 2 on Google out of 700k pages about Pornstar martini Cocktails so I'm getting there slowly. If anyone who knows about structured data html knows me get I touch so you cancels me figure it out!!

A lovely weekeNd away, but need a break to RECOVER!!

I've been away for a weekend to Swansea with my girlfriend to see her best friend and family, the weathers been a bit iffy so had to entertain our selves and a very energetic 3 year old. This weekend I've been a monster, a donkey, a camel and in general a child entertainer it's been great fun and an excuse for me to act 3 again! Must say though hide and seek when you're 6'2 isn't the easiest of games! Enjoyable all the same.

I've had a weekend off the bike and out of the kitchen but this gave me time to think of recipes and things I want to cover on bike subjects. There was one of the top 100 climbs in the UK right on our hosts door step, shame I hadn't taken my bike so I could cross it off my list. Oh well one to remember for summer.

Saturday night we we went out for food and drinks. I had a burger, almost as good as my blue cheese one. Then washed it down with a Mojito, they looked a bit shocked when I tried to change the recipe a bit asking for spiced rum instead of Bacardi.

We then moved onto the cocktails bar. Wow! They certainly put enough alcohol in them, the Mojito could of cleaned paint brushes there was that much rum in, I'm glad I'd not ordered that myself!

I went for a Pornstar Martini, after mastering my recipe recently (see the page on my cocktails section on here) I knew what taste to expect, theirs however tasted different, no Passoa, no lime, it was nice but no Kimbers Kitchen! Luckily they redeemed themselves on the Espresso Martini. It was amazing! the best I've ever had and I'll be working on a similar recipe when I make mine for the website!

I've just got home now it's a lovely place to visit in summer, I highly recommend Verdi's in Mumbles and if you're into your curries Chutneys is very good there too.

Thanks for a lovely weekend Bron, Tom, Jack and Ruby look forwards to seeing you in summer.

Now time to sleep and relax

yours

Uncle Matthew the monster

My day started off with a major scare which ruined the rest of it! I commute to Leeds on the major cycle path which is segregated from the road and away from cars nearly knocking me off. However today I was greeted by new day danger ,children not paying attention. As I coasted down the path doing about 25 miles an hour, I was looking out for cars pulling into the path way or out of a driveway etc, having been knocked off twice now it kinda makes you need eyes in the back of your head! What I didn't account for however or even think about was children running in front of me!

A father and his 2 kids were walking to school, he was carrying their school bags and holding the little boys hand, the girl slightly older or at least looking that way being a few feet taller , skipped along without a care in the world. I must of been about 100 metres away when I saw them but at 25mph that gap soon closes. In what felt like slow motion , the little girl must of seen something in the bikelane and decided to go pick it up. For the ones of you who ride a bike you will know it takes a while to stop at those speeds, the only thing I could do was swerve.

Luckily this particular track didn't have a curb dividing it from the road and I was able to swerve across .I didn't have time to think about cars or buses. Or in fact anything that could harm me, my only thought was not hitting the little girl by any means possible.

Luckily I achieved this, a car could of hit me or a bus there a a lot of what ifs that crossed my mind that day. How would I of coped with life if I killed a child? I struggled with work as my mind was on this all day.

So if you're a parent, a grandparent or just someone that looks after kids ,please please please talk to them about staying on the path and looking out for bikes. Not all cyclists pay attention and if I'd of just gone looked down at my cycle computer a second or looked over my shoulder for a second the girl and me may not be here to tell the tale.

Please share with anyone appropriate as it really upset me

Evening all! Or Eyup if you speak Yorkshire!

If you follow my page on Facebook - (put @kimberskitchen in the search bar and you should see me) you’ll see I made a funny video at the weekend, making cocktails and generally enjoying myself. Might have had something to do with the 2 cocktails I’d had in the afternoon!

My boss at work had given  me a few suggestions on outfit and styling which I went with, people who know me know if I take something on I really go for it! She had made a promise if it was funny she would share it with all her friends on Facebook, she has over 5000 so we were hoping it could generate a few extra views and get my page noticed. 10pm now the following day, I've had a grand total of 62 views, not quite the viral video we were hoping for. The quest will go on.

Back to the website ,this is my first attempt at a website, I’ve spent a lot of time visiting sites and pages over the years but its only now you when you come to compose your own you realise how hard it actually is. I'm not shy but it feels a bit like one of those awkward first days where you feel like you're either being silent or talking at them! I’m also discovering im easily distracted, I start one subject then move onto another without finishing the first! I’m thinking a task list like I use at work may be a good idea. Any suggestions from fellow bloggers?
Last night I added a new string to my cocktail making bow, my first ever Mock tail. How can you take one of the most famous cocktails a Pornstar Martini and turn it into an alcohol free drink for one of your pregnant friends? Well I took an alcoholic recipe off a well-known site and substituted all the alcoholic ingredients with an alternative. I must say I was very impressed, with drinks like that anyone doing dry none drinking months for charity id highly recommend trying one. I’ve only made one so far but keep an eye out for my mock tail updates, my next attempt will be a mojito! Which happens to be my favourite cocktail personally so it will be a good judge of my mixing skills!

Following my last blog post my boiler is still faulty L going to be £245 for the repair, oh well I’ve had no repairs for 2 years + so I’ve saved a fortune in monthly cover charges I guess silver lining and all that jazz, it is swaying me towards my Wood burning stove though, I’ve been thinking of buying one after using a log cabin for a weekend break with one fitted, just need to find a good wood supplier anyone know of any? Or have any trees I could come chop down?
Had a night off the cocktails tonight, drinking on a school night is never good! It would help me a lot for people to give me some inspiration for cocktail creations, comment with a favourite ingredient or flavour and ill see what I can create, I want to make this site a Social affair. Thanks for reading.

Back soon Matt J

So It begins......

So I've been told the internet is all about blogging so I thought i' ad a page to make it easier to navigate and find what I've been up to and whats new on here.

So Saturday saw the return of warmer weather, the roads were dry and my boiler is broken so I didnt really need a reason to get out of the house! I donned my lycra, dusted off the summer bike Yes bikes are seasonal) and got ready to meet my friends.

It was nice for a change to be up and active, we did about 25 miles and I came home for a nice bowl of Leek and Potato soup, homemade of course, recipe is on here under my food section.

This set me up for the day and gave me plenty of time to do my chores and go fix my mums caravan that my dad had broken (always good for me to earn brownie points, my Mum still does a lot for me!)

Come Saturday night we visited what my brother states as being the best restaurant in the world "Pizza Hut" I must admit im quite partial to a meat feast pizza every now and then and the free salad is a bonus too, well worth a visit.

When I got home it was a case of hybernating in my bedroom, the heating is broken like I said so my only source of heat is either my electric blanket in bed or the shower, and im not sure sleeping in the shower is an option! Luckily the plumber is coming tommorrow to try fix it!

Sunday afternoon is my daily shopping trip, it gives me chance to browse and think what creations I can make that week, I picked up some ingredients for my next cocktail attempt and headed home, Mrs Kimber (my mum to those of you who dont know me personally) makes the best sunday roast and were were due there at 5 , this gave me a few hours to kill so hey why not make a mark1 of my cocktail and see how it turned out.

I measured out my ingredients, added to my cocktail maker and off i went. Mark 1 of the cocktail tasted just what i was after, Lemon Cheesecake! however it was like rocket fuel and the vodka was just a bit overpowering, so onto mark2 to try adjust it. I drank the first and tried again. This time the flavour wasnt as nice but it didnt blow your head off! I'm going to have another attempt soon with slight variations!

Sunday dinner was awesome! back home after and time for my girlfriend to go home, this gave me perfect time to have a bit of fun and make the next video for my Youtube channel! (Kimberskitchen) I slipped on my fro, blacked up my tash, and got into my 70's vibe. You can see the video under my cocktail section under the after 8.

Hope you have a great week, ill be back with updates soon

Mat :-)
