Strawberry and white chocolate dessert
I've tried a lot of proteins over the years from many manufacturers, some tasted nice but gave me cramps, some worked well but tasted horrible, then others were just bad in all areas! I'd read good stories on The Protein Works products and they have a good online presence which to me shows they're proud of what they have and want to share it with the world!
I visited their website and looked at some of their products, they have a lot of flavours to chose from and I wasn't sure which to chose, I noticed they have a samples page which can be found here , I picked my flavours. and they were with me 2 days later.
These sample sizes are a great way to decide what flavours you like without having to buy a big bag, and once you decide on your favourite flavour check out my page for any deals they have currently, including the special 10% additional Kimber's Kitchen discount using code KK10

I decided to get Strawberry and White Chocolate, Vanilla Creme and Chocolate silk, I had plans in my head what I wanted to make so these flavours fit in perfectly with my plans. Before I was going to bake with it I made up a shaker full with milk, I'd just been for a bike ride so wanted something to help the legs recover. I can honestly say I've not had a protein that blends as easy as this, no clumping in the shaker, no having to use a fork to get to the bottom either! This made me hopeful for any recipes! I used the Whey Protein 80 found here, this means the product is made up of 80% protein content, they do higher ones but I found this perfect for my needs as the yogurt already has protein in.
Equipment needed
The Equipment below is what's needed to make this recipe, If you are missing anything or need to replace an old/broken piece of equipment then click on the images to see a selection of great equipment for sale.
A stand mixer is best for this recipe as it adds volume to the dessert and fully mixes in all the protein powder, the spatula makes sure you don't leave any behind!
Once mixed I decanted my mixture into ramekins and stored in the freezer to firm up, you can leave overnight and it will become more like ice cream.

How to make
This is a very quick and simple recipe to make, its something you can knock up whilst your preparing your main course, place in the fridge or freezer depending how hard you want it then forget about it until you need it.
Open the Protein pack, the first thing you notice is the smell, it smells amazing! my friend came round and was asking what I'd been making as it smelt lovely and it was the protein powder he could smell! The scoop that comes with the protein measures out 25 grams, add 2 of these scoops to the Mixer
Next up add the Natural Yogurt the more yogurt you add the thinner the mixture will be, I used 500ml which was the full tub, you could also add a bit more protein powder to increase the thickness without losing the volume
When you add the yogurt to the powder, as if by magic you will notice it starts to turn pink around the edges, add the mixing paddle and away we go.
Start the mixer on a slow speed, if you start on a fast setting you're just going to send powder and yogurt everywhere, as it starts to come together speed the mixture up, use the spatula if the mixture starts to stick to the edge of the bowl and not mixed properly.
After a few minutes of mixing you should have nice creamy mixture, make sure there's no lumps of unmixed powder which would ruin the consistency of the dessert. Decant the dessert into ramekins, my mixture filled 4 ramekins but it depends how big yours are!
And for the finishing touch add a block of white chocolate over each dessert, a little goes a long way, the aim for this dessert was low fat high protein, so don't add a bar of chocolate to each dessert!
Place the desserts in the fridge if you want them as more yogurt consistency or put them in the fridge overnight for a frozen yogurt.
And here we have 4 beautiful desserts that cost less than 50p each, low fat, low carbs and high protein. Perfect for post work outs or just as a healthier alternative to a yogurt full of sugar and preservatives.
