Dhb Classic breton short sleeve jersey
Over the few years I've been cycling I've worn a variety of brands, Expensive Italian ones, cheap copies off our friends on the internet in China and then mid range ones from my local bike shop. They have either been expensive and I've wanted to save them for best or terrible quality that lasts a few rides. This led me to look for a jersey that fell into the mid price category but still being of good quality.
I had received an email from Wiggle talking about their new range of DHB clothing, I'd not tried this brand before but had heard good things from friends so I opened it up to take a closer look. The first thing that grabbed my attention was the Classic Breton Short Sleeve Jersey, I ride a black bike and my other clothing and helmet has red highlights of colour on so this style was perfect. I then looked at the spec:-
-Lightweight polyester fabric wicks moisture away from the skin
-Anti bacterial control fabric treatment
-3 vertical drop pockets at the rear
-Silicone hem grip to keep the back of the jersey from rising
-Reflective dhb logo front chest and rear centre back
-Full length YKK zip
It was the last part that decided it for me. Nearly all my jerseys have failed on the zips especially the cheaper ones! I've had to stitch them up so i can carry on using them which isn't ideal in a hot summer when you need to lower the zip to let some air in! So I ordered the top and a new matching pair of shorts (reviewed here) and they came a few days later (with free haribo!!)
I put the shorts on first then the top, its a very good fit and looked great, it has reflective graphics on which although great made me wonder when i'd be wearing this top at night, usually wrapped up well by then!! but I guess a arm night in twilight they may have their uses!

I'm quite a thin person and i usually struggle to get a well fitted jersey, this however fits great, its well fitted around the chest but not too tight around the arms and back. my only negative point is it could do with being a little longer on the front as when i'm riding it rides up a little, maybe this is because i'm so thin i have no belly to hold it in place!! its a bit longer at the back though so keeps me draft free!
Ive warn this top three times now, once on its own on a hot day and two other times with a baselayer under it, its great! Do you need to spend £100 on an Italian branded one? what about the ones by the pro teams? After riding with the DHB I would highly recommend the brand to anyone, give them a try, you could get your shorts and jersey for less than that highter end branded top alone.
