Photography
I started my interest in photography several years ago, a friend bought me and my girlfriend at the time a photoshoot which included one free image at the end of it.
We went on the day with lots of different outfits, the photographer took hundreds of photos in many different poses and at the end we were told we would get to see the results a few weeks later.
On returning for the preview we were taken into a room in a cinema type set up, big projector at the front, comfy chair, free glass of fizz. I knew the hard sell was on the way!
After the preview I felt disapointed out of all the pictures that were taken I think we liked about 4 of them the rest were cheesy or too art for my taste, strangely cropped or edited. We actually struggled to chose our free one and then left.
When we got home I joked saying if I spent £500 (the price they wanted for a larger photo) I could do our own photoshoot for a lot cheaper! That joke turned into a more serious thought and 2 weeks later I bought a Canon 450d for £500 from the local PC world!
Ever since, I've really enjoyed taking photos, I started with the basic lense before buying a portrait 50mm lense. I love that particular lense and some of my favourite photos have been shot with it. Ive recently bought a 70-300mm lense for more close up work but I would recommend getting the Image stabilised version as its hard to take hand held photos on a long zoom with some blurring.
A gallery of my work where you can buy images in a range of formats is here, also my images for sale are on Shutterstock HERE
