Whittards Salted caramel hot chocolate
We have a Whittards shop opposite my office and when I walk passed the smell of fresh coffee and teas is lovely. I'd kept promising to treat myself to some nice coffee for the colder days and now that times arrived I went online to take a look.
I noticed they had a deal on hot chocolate at the time so thought i'd give this a go too, my girlfriend doesn't drink tea or coffee so wanted something she could enjoy too.
I browsed and came accross the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. I've always been a fan of hot chocolate but some of the popular ones are a bit too sweet for my taste buds so I thought this could be nice.
I ordered some along with some nice coffee and tea (which I'll be reviewing later) and got free delivery and discount for spending above a certain amount, I cant remember the exact value, I think it was £10 off for over £40 spend. (See my Whittards page here for any current offers)
It arrived a few days later and was very well packaged as shown in the images below, Quite a nice card in with the order thanking me for my purchase, a nice touch I thought

Last night was really cold, I was planning a night chilling out watching TV, normally I'd have a beer but being cold I decided to pop open the Hot Chocolate and give it a whirl
You can see the bits of sugar and salt in the mixture, normally i'd put a couple of scoops into my favourite mug add some hot water and off we go. This mixture however recommends hot milk. I placed the 200ml recommended quantity into a jug and microwaved until hot. Then added the hot Chocolate to my Cup and then the Hot milk into this.
The consistency was a little thick so I added a little hot water to thin it down, everyones tastes are different so you cant make it the same for everyone.

My first attempt at this yeilded a thick and creamy cup of hot chocolate, the taste of salted caramel was strong and you could pick this up straight away. The next time I make this im going to add a little more sugar as it was a little salty for my taste.
I really enjoyed this and cant wait to try the coffees on the weekend, I dont get home until 7pm from work so its after my caffeine cut off!
