DHB Classic bib shorts
A review ofdhb Classic shorts
Good well padded Shorts, the fine line between a comfortable day in the saddle and a sore bum and feeling fed up!
I've tried a lot of brands over the years, each claiming to have a fantastic pad in their shorts for long distance comfort. I spent £90 on a pair that were meant to be water resistant from a famous Italian manufacturer they were fine on 10-20 mile rides any more and they gave me saddle sores.I then tried cheapy fake team ones off the internet for £15 on first inspection they were comfy and great but a few washes down the line they had gone soft! Then I received an email from Wiggle talking about their new range of DHB clothing, I'd not tried this brand before but had heard good things from friends so I opened it up the email to take a closer look.
The Shorts are plain in design which suits me i'm not a flashy rider in bright colours (although I do like it to match!) The shorts have strategically placed reflective logos which will make them great for late night rides in summer as the dark draws in.
I ordered a pair along with the top (reviewed here) and they came a few days later (with free haribo!!)
I put the shorts on first then the top, they are a very good fit and looked great, the reflective graphics can be seen on the pictures below

I'm quite a thin person and i usually struggle to get well fitted shorts, these however fit great, the silicone around the thighs grip well and the pad is sturdy with out being bulky so I don't feel like i'm wearing a nappy whilst in them!!
I've worn this top and shorts combination three times now, on a hot day and two other times with a baselayer under the top, the combo is great! Do you need to spend £100 on an Italian branded ones? what about the ones by the pro teams? After riding with the DHB I would highly recommend the brand to anyone, give them a try, you could get your shorts and jersey for less than that higher end branded top alone.
