Do you like tea? what about Earl Grey? if so you're in for a treat! If not give it a try you may suprise yourself!
Gin has had a massive uprising recently and i'd missed the start, I was convinced I hated it after having a G&T one night however I recently learnt it was more likely the tonic I didnt like apposed to the Gin so I decided to give it a second chance.
I love tea and coffee and the Espresso martini is one of my go to cocktails on a night out, check out my recipe for a salted caramel version by clicking the blue typing above. But what about tea?? can tea be used in cocktails? I'd read about people mixing flavoured teas into cocktails and infusing them so I decided to try an Earl grey tea mixed with some Gin and created this recipe for the Gin Earl grey Martini.
Its very simple to make, I Had it cold but got thinking after, it could of been nice warm served from a teapot hipster style!

How to make an earl grey martini
Place 2 Earl Grey tea bags in a mug, I use Whittard ones found HERE as they have a flavour that really compliments the botanicals in Gin. Then add boiling water, you want about 100ml of fluid here which is about 1/2 a normal mug but you can use a jug to measure more accurately add 2 teaspoons of sugar . Set this to one side and allow to brew for a few minutes as we want a strong tea.
Remove the tea bags and add the tea into a shaker with ice, the juice of half a lemon , 50ml of your favourite gin
Give the mixture a really good shake and then double strain into a martini glass
To finish , decorate the glass with a slice of lemon
